I was doing my brakes last weekend and I noticed that my 2001 has the same clicking noise. As it turns out, I also have a humming noise that I thought was a wheel bearing. I was going to replace my bearings next but would love to hear an expert opinion on this clicking.

I think that may be your problem if you say you get no crank. If the problem was in the bypass, you would get crank but no start.

Did you tag both the start wire? Most Toyotas have two start wires, i believe off the top of my head they are green/black and black/white(I think, look it up, buldog's website is helpful, look for vehicle wiring diagrams). I install remote car starters for a living, and I normally talk people out of using the factory remotes. What you are experiencing is normal operation for most factory remotes and there is no way to override this. Go back to the shop that installed it and ask them to program the avitol remotes...

That sucks! I had a tail light stolen off of my 93 PU once. They took it in broad daylight! Must have been those balsy punks with.the wrenches. He he, just had to laugh!

Hey all! I bought my 2001 SR5 in May, 2012. Before that I had a 93 PU 22R for 8 years until the frame rotted out, still have it tho. I am looking forward to modifying my 4Runner to fit my needs, and so far this forum has given me many ideas, thanks. ( wheels spinning, gears turning )
