Looking at a 2007 with 142k, has burned out heat/AC light and the rear end thumps a little more than I like. Here is the link and I would like your honest opinion...I feel the price is about 2k too high...
Same issue
I have a 2013 SR5 as well, same clunking problem and the dealer/factory says it's perfectly normal and won't do anything to help us with it. Funny how the Lexus version got a brand new driveshaft though.
Does anyone have one of these? Do they get good reception in relation to the stock antenna. Can you leave them on in an automatic car wash? Any and all help on this matter is greatly appreciated...thanks!
No I haven't. I did notice that that the thump is considerably less since the dealer fixed the brake fade problem I had. And the weird part about the brake fade fix....the dealer claims they did nothing to the truck!
Thump problem
The dealer has been very helpful, but corporate won't let them do any sort of part replacement as they consider the thump normal. The dealer even told me to continue to complain to Toyota but to no avail.
Bottom line...I have had GM 4x4's and have never had anything close to this problem. I bought the 4runner because it's supposed to be vastly superior. I'm beginning to wonder.
Great help from toyota corporate
Called Toyota corporate and they basically told me to pound sand and deal with it. That is considered normal operating for the drive shaft. Going to speak to the owner at the dealership and see if he will do anything for us.
