4runner TRD antenna

Does anyone have one of these? Do they get good reception in relation to the stock antenna. Can you leave them on in an automatic car wash? Any and all help on this matter is greatly appreciated...thanks!

I don't have the TRD one (actually I've never seen one before you posted about it), but mine looks similar and it has survived many a run through the car wash. I have the Pilot stubby purchased Pep Boys. I would estimate my reception is down about 20-30%. The TRD antennas look like they have some carbon fiber them, which the Pilot does not have. For me a less expensive looking antenna is a good thing because people like to steal things that take 10 seconds to remove from your car

You are correct.

The TRD does have carbon fiber in it. They only seem to cost 15-20 bucks so I might it a shot.

The reviews on amazon suggest you need to look elsewhere...
