I have a Bud Built front skid on my 2004 4Runner and love it. Im thinking of adding Bud's second piece for the t-case, as my underbelly is taking a heck of a beating.

A quick seach of the forums lead me to www.ram-mount.com for a laptop mount. :D . There are 2 products available, one with a ball mount, and one with a swivel mount. I'd like to hear from anyone who has one of these installed or seen them installed in regards to the amount of space they take...

Finally got the new suspension/lift installed. Components: DR front 0-3" coilovers (P/N 5-8630) DR rear shocks (P/N 7505) Deaver rear spring, 1" lift, 30% stiffer than stock Remember I wanted only a 1.5" lift in the front. The COs come preset at 2" and I was told they were turned "2" on...

As typical for me, I stuck with the Goldilocks theory and went for 30% over stock. Not too soft, not to rigid, just right! I know my ride will be stiffer around town, but Im hoping it'll keep my rear off the rocks and ground.

Actually, in the rear Im getting DR shocks and Deaver coils. Because Im lifting only 1" in the rear, I have to get a custom coil. The DR coil is 2". Im not sure what the OME is, but it is more than 1". In reading the various threads, I didn't really come across any hoopla over any other...

That's a great link... thanx. It's been slow reading for me cuz I don't understand anything about shocks and coils, but it has been very educational. I also appreciate the suggestion to go with DR all around. Hmmmm... decisions, decisions.

I talked with Bud today and the skids for the '04 4R are made - he just needs to test them. He is renting a 4R this week in order to do so and said they should be ready "soon"... and I believe that would be by the year's end. The front skid will come with a hole predrilled for draining...

Thanx Jim. I think I'll also call Bud Built and see when their 4R skids are coming out. A friend of mine who runs with TTORA highly recommends them, but I didn't see that they had any 4R skids. Good tip about the oil drain valve too.

How do you like this skid Jim? Im in Long Beach and talked with Downey the other day. I could pop on over and pick one up. Since I am mechanically challenged, do you have a recommendation of someone who could install them? Does the skid present any problems with the dealer when you take it...
