any specific kind of wire?

I understand connecting the ground to black on a battery what I'm having trouble understanding is connecting the fuel supply voltage to the positive side of the battery. I'm i suppose to use a wire or....?

i got an delphi fuel pump and i had to cut an oem fuel pump connector and crimp it with the one that came with a delphi fuel pump kit and i want to test it before i fully install the tank. any thoughts would be great

I dropped my fuel tank, removed the fuel pump but I have an aftermarket fuel pump from Delphi and it requires I cut my brown and blue wires to connect to red and black wires that came with the kit and Im not good with wiring Ive asked around no one knows which side either wires should be crimped...
