I spent all of yesterday dropping the pan, swapping out the SLT solenoid and filter for good measure, followed by the refill procedure for fluids. Good news, the check engine light went off on its own. I drove around the block a few times and everything seemed good. Shifting is much smoother...

Do a quick search on Amazon for inspection camera... You can get a camera on a 4' flexible cord which connects to your phone for about $20. Works great for checking things in tight spots

So I gather it was just a matter of unplugging the harness on the passenger side of transmission and cleaning corrosion and then adding a electronic cleaner/protectant? I am getting a different specific code for the SLT solenoid D pressure valve. This would be a much cheaper fix haha

Any takers? spoke with the dealership who informed me there are seven solenoids...I was under the impression there was only three.

I was able to get my vin and check through the Toyota website my transmission is 5at. Still have trouble identifying which solenoids to get there are a variety of options.

Wow I feel goofy should probably deactivate my account after that...I found it no problem. Well worth it, my fluid was practically the color of oil. 114k on the truck and I was also quite low. What a difference should be good to go for a while. Thanks again for all the help!

A decent amount came out, I had just driven it before I realized just how bad the leak was, If I were to guess about 1/4 of a quart.

Thank for the replies guys...after further research I think I have a much better grasp on the procedure and will do it myself. It seems rather straight forward...warm up the trans, drain, fill with four quarts...repeat this procedure three times and should put me at the 11.5 quarts required...
