Thank you. I viewed some pictures and noticed an older model on black car day.
I see that you're in IL too...have you used TCCN?
I've had 99% of my maintenance done at a dealership since 1997 and the only time I didn't, the dealership had to re-do the work.
Can anyone recommend a mechanic that specializes in vintage Toyota maintenance using OEM parts in the Chicagoland area?
After 27-yrs, it’s time to look into replacing electrical harness etc to keep my T4R (1999) running well and avoid potential issues down the road.
Thanks!
Hello fellow 4 runner gurus....i wish i could attach a short video of the noise that i took...I’m the original owner of 99 4R SR5 6 cylinder 150k miles...i noticed the noise about 6 blocks into driving, stop and go traffic with window open i can hear high pitch noise. Faster speeds is hard to...
I did not... every time I had someone look at it, the noise mysteriously went away. Funny that you inquiry several years later because I'm noticing the noise more frequently vs. before when it seemed like it was just in extreme cold weather.
I'd prefer to order new...so lost 3rd button is ok. Why do you think dealer told me NOT to follow case #? When I've googled oem#, the case # is listed different from what I have...
Hello!
I need to order new fobs for my '99 4R (original owner) and I noticed numerous posts but each one appears to have a little different story... (not worried about programming...plenty written about this procedure)
Currently have:
"Dealer" installed VIP RS3000 alarm system
BLACK case...
thanks for spelling out the difference.
Chicago is experiencing very cold weather (20-15F), would this have an effect too? If the WD40 doesn't work, do I need to rush to fix (don't want to get stranded on hwy) or do i have a week or so? Is this an expensive fix?
BTW...thumbs up on your...
Front sway bar links were replaced @ 109.6k miles...is this the same part you speak about being a possibility?
Any chance I could hear the noise if I bounce on front bumper without someone under? It's only me with no help...
Also, if this is the problem...will this require an immediate fix...
Happy Monday!
I just noticed a squeaking noise when driving at lower speeds (10-40mph) with very minor bumps (like a parking lot) that sounds like a vintage baby buggy or a bed frame with springs. Before I head into a garage, I'd like to sound educated so I don't get taken to the cleaners...
Your comments sound like real possibilities...i would hope that toyota svc would know the right size cat but you never know. As my 4R ages, there's a lot of the deteriorating of parts that i'm finding myself replacing. The trans fluid color was deep red & a hair below the line on dipstick (and...
I will try the neutral idea...
as far as the wrong weight of fluid or over filled, last i had checked the fluid was still red & a hair below the line on dipstick.
thanks for these ideas!
