I have a 1992 4Runner 4 cyl. 5 speed. I can't pin point when the problem occurs. It will happen with it is warm and cold. The problem is most evedant at idle with the brake pedal pushed in. The engine surges from 1500 rpm to 800 rpm. If I take my foot off the brake it will high idle at 1200...

My truck idles good. But when I hit the gas it will just stall out. I can start it right back up. It will idle, but if I touch the gas at all it will stall again. Any ideas? What should I check first? I was thinking it could be the throttle position sensor? Thanks

I have a '92 with a 2.4L. I checked to see if the a/c fan was working. It was not, so I went to up plug it to test it and noticed that on of the motor leads was broken off. I tried to clean up the area it was attached to and hook a jumper off the battery to see if it would run. And no luck...

It is a manual and has non stock 31"s. I know 4.56's will bring me back to stock. What are the pro's or con's to going up to 4.88's?

I have a '92 with a 22-RE and 31" tires, still running stock gears. I would like to put some different gears in. I'm not sure if I should go with 4.56's, that would bring everything "back to stock." Or if I should gear down a little more and go with 4.88's. Any suggestions? Pro's and Con's?

I have a '92 Runner with stock gears, I believe 4.11's I have the 22-RE, and am running 31" tires. I can tell it is bogged down. And on the highway I'm not in the powerband of the RPM range. It usually cruses at 70 MPH at 3200 RPM. It feels like it starts to make power at 3500 all the way...
