    Drag strip adventure: The sequel!

Yeah, Honda calls there 2-in-1 ECU and AT controller a PCM (powertrain control module). Different acronyms for different manufacturers, lol.

    Drag strip adventure: The sequel!

I actually took that into account when decided where to manually shift, so I made it a point to go all the way to redline on the 1-2 shift, and let the PCM auto shift from 2-3. I did however leave it locked in 3rd gear instead of letting it shift to 4th before the finish, as I felt I'd lose more...

It's a drag strip in Sealy, TX, just a little west of Houston.

    Drag strip adventure: The sequel!

So after last time's fun, I decided to take a crack at it again. My best was a 15.22 @ 87.87mph. I also got a 2.17 60' and 0.0024 reaction time while running in a bracket :D On my 2nd bracket run, I had to brake before the finish to avoid breaking out, although looking at the times leading up...

What are the advertised HP and torque ratings for the newer V8? Yep

    Drag strip adventure

Didn't take anything out, and I left the spare in because I think I'd be better off having that extra weight behind/over the axle; open diffs suck :) I left the auto in in 3, so I was somewhere above 5k RPMs crossing the finish. I felt that it was probably better to let it wind all the way up...

    Drag strip adventure

I'll let the attached spreadsheet do most of the talking. However, I must mention that this was my second drag event ever, and the temps started off at 54*F, and dropped to around 45*F by my last run. It's all stock, except for a K&N drop-in filter, if it matters :p I'm bummed that I redlighted...

    Noob towing questions

Care to elaborate? ;): Honestly as soon as I get the chance I'll take a 2nd look at this receiver and find the label... Just FYI, I'll be hauling just at/under 5k lbs...

    Noob towing questions

That is exactly what I'm thinking. The only way I could see the hitch snapping off is if I go too far over the 730lb tongue weight limit, or if I tried to use a WD hitched trailer with my weight-bearing receiver...

    Noob towing questions

My only confusion comes from the fact that my owner's manual specifically states that I can still tow 7300lbs with this weaknut weight-bearing hitch installed (it acknowledges that I don't have a WD hitch!). Nowhere in the manual does it say that I'm limited to 5k lbs... Again as soon as I get...

    Noob towing questions

Alright, I'm probably jumping the gun by asking this now, as I have yet to get the exact specs on the car hauler I will be borrowing. My friend and I want to take a '73 dodge charger out to a 1/4 mile drag event this Saturday. However, it would be much easier for us to tow it out there (120...

    Transmission pan bolts torque spec?

What is the torque spec for the drain pan bolt, and the numerous bolts holding the pan to the transmission case? Also, is there meant to be a crush washer on the drain bolt? When I started to change drain my ATF, I noticed that there was not a crush washer on the drain bolt (dealer was the last...
