The "lock" button in the console disables the rear window roll-down. Make sure it is "up". Sometimes dirt accumulates around it and prevents it from unlocking?

Recently acquired 1990 4Runner, SR5, 4WD, 3.0 V6, manual shift, 340K miles. Has been very well kept, but there are a lot of little things I am fixing up. The plastic piece that surrounds the door lock button is missing on the driver's door. I have the replacement part, but how to install it...
