My suspicions seem to be correct. Put a new (used) ecm in and it runs and drives. Fixing the cv boots the tow truck drive cut ? then getting it on the road.

Also want to note my cheap code reader as well as my Idatalink cannot communicate with ecm after it no longer turns over.

New wheels and 265/70r17 tires.

I ended up ordering these in 265/70R17, hopefully mounted tomorrow.

I am solely basing it off of what a 3rd gen TRD Off Road Tacoma stock front suspension lifted my 4Runner which was about 2”. It may only be 3.5”. It may be 5”. I don’t explicitly know.

Far from an expert but I would expect them to be able to bolt up but provide 5" or so of lift which has a lot of other implications. What are your goals?

I used to fluid film myself. I just had the 4Runner Krown coated, it's well worth the $150 to me.

This is primarily a daily driver. I drive about 30 miles a day for work so a little less of a hit on mileage would be good. I don't really plan to offroad much and tire cost being reasonable is nice.

Trying to determine what size tires to order, I acquired a set of 5th gen off road pro wheels and did 3rd gen Tacoma (probably 2" or so front) and 1.5" rear Bilstein springs. I don't want to deal with rubbing (or barely any at all at lock). Between 255/75R17's and 265/70R17. Any thoughts?

Price doesn't sound too bad for the SR5 if it is truly rust free. I just bought my 07 Sport with 230k miles and will probably have in the neighborhood of $1,000 in parts plus my time making it right. I would absolutely not consider a rusty one.

Supposedly one was old stock one was new... They gave me a $20 credit and supposedly are ordering me a new one but already refunded both cores... it's kind of a mess but I only see it saving me more money.
