I think I agree with the general feeling rear shocks are too soft for an SUV but it's certainly an improvement over the blown out XREAS.

OME 90021/885 up front, OME 895 with stock shock in the rear(until I find a good deal on a stiff OME rear). V8 4x4, no other weight in front, 200-400lbs of tools and a big cooler with ice and drinks in the back, no other bumpers/skids/sliders. Didn't need a UCA for alignment in the front, even at this light weight. Stock SR5 wheels, 17x7.5, -30 offset, wearing 265/70R17 Sumitomo Encounter AT’s. My tires lightly rub the UCA and frame at lock, I suspect 15-30mm more offset (or a similarly thick wheel spacer) would eliminate that rub.

All the front arms and links. SPC UCA’s. 275/70R17’s Wildpeak AT3W’s. 4th gen sport taillights. Looking for sport headlights currently. It’s a Frankenstein set up but she gets noticed amongst the Yota fam. Lights and more tire next

Lift: Bilstein 5100 with OME coils - 1" body lift
Tires: Mickey Thompson Baja Boss A/T 295/70R17
Wheels: Method Racing 312 17x9

These wheels have been on 4 different Toyotas now (FJ Cruiser, 19 4Runner, 18 Tacoma, and now 04 4Runner). I am so glad I got the bronze color too.

Baja Boss tires are fairly new to me. Compared to the Nitto Ridge Graplers that I was running, the Baja's are a little quieter. Have not used them yet on the rocks, but I hear they are really good.

Bilstein setup is entry level but the ride is good and not bouncy. Coming from OME Nitrochargers, the Bilstein's seem to not be as harsh. I would definitely recommend this setup if your on a budget.

How do you like those Moog FJ springs with the 5100's? This is almost exactly what I was thinking of doing. What setting did you use on front?

Love the color combo. Bronze wheels look especially good on a black vehicle. I had a similar color combo with my 18 Tacoma running Method Racing 312 wheels in bronze.

I am a victim of Black Friday sales and purchased myself a set of Icon Rebound Pros and 34" Milestar XTs. I know the Milestars don't have the greatest reviews, but I think they fit my use-case pretty well.

So far I like the new setup. The new tires track a bit with the grooves on the highway but it's not too bad. I haven't had a chance to try them out in snow or ice yet.

I already have a BMC and extensive trimming so I haven't had much rubbing, but we'll see what happens when I flex it out.

The XTs last much better than the MTs. I've put 35k miles on 37" XTs on my Gladiator and they're just starting to wear out now.

They absolutely dominate in snow and I only felt like they had a little less traction compared to the Toyo MTs I had on it before. They're also way quieter and smoother on the road than muds

2018 trd or

2018 4Runner 2.5 front and 1.5 rear sitting on stock premium wheels and Toyo Open Country R/T (Rugged Tire) Lt285/70/17… no BMC yet and no rubbing on road or off road… the tread on this tire will not allow it to fit in spare location… 8’ sun awning on roof with ski racks on other side for my rods… hitch upfront for cooler and rod holder… molle shelf rack installed in back for tow equipment and air pump…

Just finished my lift

ICON Stage 2 Lift w/ SPC UCA's, Metaltech rear bump extensions, Metaltech rear LCAs and UCAs, and removal of front sway bar

There's so much info on how to fit 35s on here. I've already done my BMC and am going to do some pinch weld hammering and more trimming, but i'm still getting gun shy and thinking of going with 285/75 Yokohama G0003 MTs. I think I just need to go 35s straight off.

What do you all think?

Before I go and change my setup... again....

Here is my current setup:

Wheels: American Racing AR201 17x9 -12mm offset, 1" spidertrax wheels spacers front and rear.
Tires: Kenda Klever RT 35x12.5 r 17
Lift: 1 inch body lift, Front Icon 2.5 suspension lift (~1.5" as it sits now) Rear Dobinsons Long Travel with their Heavy Duty progressive springs (rear axle is pushed back approximately 1-1.5"

Just took delivery of some Toyo 37's to go onto some Method Racing 106 beadlock wheels... so this setup, as good as it looks, is coming off shortly.... (and if you really like it and are not far from Charlotte hit me up )
