Thanks everyone for the info. Super helpful. It seems as if all the desert roads have sandblasted the top coat off. Now with all the winter rain, the rust has set in. They don't salt the roads in CA. I will be spraying a convertor, and then a sealant.

Just peaked under the truck and got a little concerned. I have never experienced this before. I know 'Toyota and rust' in the same sentence isn't new, but I haven't seen it on a 2016 before. Roughly 20K miles, 1.5 old. Thoughts? Do I need to do anything to prevent more? Thanks.
