    Adjusting Rear Brakes

Does anyone know the best / easiest way to adjust the rear brakes? My pedal seems to be travelling further down lately and i'd like to bring it up higher. Thanks for your help. 99 4Runner, V6 Auto 4wd.

    "Boot" under coil pack

No, I didn't test the coil pack. I did insulate the boot better though. Miss is gone now. I could see the crack in the boot and it is discoloured (brown). Truck runs fine now. It could be the coil pack that caused the boot to crack, but would it not still miss and run rough? Here's another...

    "Boot" under coil pack

Lol! Not part of the wire set... Still trying to figure out the analogy of tires and wheels. The coil is an electrical component "making" the spark. The boot is exactly the same as the wire set. It is the same as the end of one of the wires. Exact same purpose in shielding the spark pug...

    "Boot" under coil pack

Buy the whole coil to get the rubber boot... It should have been included in the set. It's kinda like going in to buy 24 beer, paying for all of them but only getting 12. Sorry, just frutrated. Also, why is it that no-one here in Ontario carries any brake lines / fuel lines in metric? Baaa!

    "Boot" under coil pack

My truck has been misfiring and the spark plug boot under the coil pack directly to one of the plugs is brown and cracked. I bought new plug wires for a ridiculour price and they weren't included. WTF? So much for a new set up wires... Why isn't it included? Where can I get one? Anyone...

99 - Checking CEL Codes - Low RPM Rough Running

99 - Checking CEL Codes - Low RPM Rough Running

No, the lights not blinking anymore. I'm in Ontario. I figured that Canadian Tire would do the same as far as checking codes. The guy laughed and said "No way! We chareg an hours labour. It's $82 plus tax (at 13%)." Hmmm... could almost buy a scanner for that! I don't think i'll find...

    Misfire?

Oops! 99 V6 automatic. Running rough... Haven't been able to run any codes on it. Misses under low rpm under load. 200k km

    Misfire?

Thanks for the reply. Is a scan tool the only way to check for codes? New plugs put in 40,000 km (25,000 miles) ago. Same old plug wires though. Is there a way to use a jumper wire to check codes on this model?

99 - Checking CEL Codes - Low RPM Rough Running

Is there a way to check the CEL codes for a 99? Do I have to get a scan tool to do it? My 99 V6 auto is running rough under load at low rpm. Just started doing it. The CEL flashhed a couple of times in succession but did not stay on. Any ideas where to look? It would be nice to just use a...

Won't go into 4 wheel drive

Thanks. Where will I find the 4wd ecu? So, it's not controlled by vacuum then? Darned electrical stuff... Hey Alistor, I see you're in Vegas. My favourite place... How's the weather? Love to move there...
