That's what I was thinking. Is there a way to quickly remove the belt?

I had max pressure on the AC pressure, like way in the red. But after a few days it just started working again and then today it went back to spinning but blowing hot air but make a crazy belt squeal and smoke coming off what looks like the compressor.

Blowing hot air and the AC compressor is spinning very slowly. What does that indicate? The 10amp fuse is good. 99 3.4 4runner

I appreciate the tips. Shouldn't it be shooting a code though? I'm only getting one code and it's a B2796 code. I almost think I'd be best off buying a coil and going through them one at a time to see if that stops the miss at 4k rpm.

I brought that up but they said that would have generated a code....

I took the 4runner into a shop. They replaced the spark splugs, fuel filter and air filter but still missing at 4k rpm. They are thinking it may be something wrong with the ecm. Still no codes. Should I look into having the fuel pump swapped?

My 4runner misses at 4000 RPM. Runs great if you don't get the rpms that high but as soon as you hit 4000 it starts missing. Totally stock 3.4l with an automatic transmission. Not getting any codes. Any ideas where to start? Thanks

Well I apologise guys. Don't think it's the transmission. Tightened up the kickdown cable and no change. Then I noticed it only did it when I'd hit right at 4000 RPM. In looking around the forum it looks like it could be a bunch of different things. Any recommendations on where to start? Not...

Can the 01/02 be swapped in? I'd rather not put in 99/00 with all the issues they had.

I have the normal gas gauge issues that's plagued lots of the 99/00 yrs. Tried the recalibration and other things and still doesn't work right. My question is can I swap in another gauge cluster? If so is the mileage stored on the ECU or on the cluster itself? Thanks! 99 3.4
