Just replaced my front left bearing on a 2010 LE at 84k miles. Jacked up the front, removed both tires, and spun the hubs. It was clear which one was bad.

I have the same problem; however, it is not year round. It only happens on extremely hot days (90+) and only at start up. After a few minutes, the smell goes away. I have changed my cabin air filter, but this did not help. Next spot to check is the evaporator. Let us know what you determine.

I was wondering the same thing. I know the battery warning light indicates a problem with the charging system, but I really like having an analog voltmeter to provide a heads up on a potential (no pun intended) problem, as well.
