    Hella vs. PIAA

Lightforce 170's !!! I'd recommend the Lightforce 170 strykers. They have plenty of throw and output and you can ADJUST the beams from wide to pencil just by rotating the ratcheted housing. They also offer various lens "filter/covers" that convert the lamps into a "fog pattern" and change the...

    The Ultimate 4runner

Info on the Safari Gard Chunderboy, I wanted to give you some clarification on my truck, since I am looking at in "in person" right now. The Safari Gards have held up extremely well to rocks, stumps, etc. The approach angle is more than adequate given my lift and I rarely scrape and have never...

scion HU with xm and ipod? Hi, I need some advice on the USA Spec iPod adapter. I want to get a Scion head unit for my 03 4runner and I want to hook up an iPod and an Terk XM commander. Will I the adapter (USA Spec) connect/control both? Do I need the Scion with the multi disc CD changer? or...

    Winch Mount

winch mount Hi Guys, Yah, those pics are from my Runner. I have been AWOL for the last few months. Surfing in Mexico can be addicting. Then, on my return I ran afoul of a herd of Elk one night near Jackson Hole. Can you say $$$$! Anyway, I became very familiar with Safari Gards' prices. They...

    Scion HU

There's the solution!!! Thanks -2K34R, There's my solution to adding both XM and iPod while still retaining steering wheel controls! Your instructions are great. So, if you get the Scion HU with the XM module you still have the CD changer port available for an iPod adapter such as the ICE or...

    Scion HU

scion with two line in adapters? Thanks Bobbie, That's an idea...but how would the HU choose? Does the XM module for the Scion HU just plug in? If it does and you operate the XM radio via buttons on the HU then maybe there could be a pass thru of hte XM module on to the iPod? Maybe there is...

    Scion HU

Scion w/ XM AND Dension ICE for iPod This seems to be the thread for this question. At least this is where the "experts" seem to be. I want to use one of the 2005 Scion units with XM and an iPod both connected via "line in". Is this possible? How? Should I use the Dension "ICE" adapter for...

Anyone regretting buying a 4Runner with the new Pathfinder out now?

Disregarding the inherant bias of all of us, a Nissan Pathfinder? ...Please. Just check back with those Nissan buyers 10 years from now and none of them will still own their trucks. Their soccer playing kids will be in college. Instead of going where old Patherfinders, Ford Exploders, and...

Request: Pic of grille gards on 2004 4runners

Send me a PM and I'll tell you the exact price. It was a steal actually. I played the old "eager guy vs. pissed off wife angle". Works every time. Plus they probably couldn't sell a new truck that had been modded to anyone who could afford it and Vice Versa, if you know what I mean? And...

Request: Pic of grille gards on 2004 4runners

I'm just guessing here, but I think the producers gathered all the truck in Moab for one last promo shot and from there they ended up in private hands or dealers. I know mine had a copy of the shipping paper from Costa Rica to LA port. This truck is more traveled than me.

Request: Pic of grille gards on 2004 4runners

From what I heard, up to 4 trucks were used at different locals all over the globe (iceland, moab, kalihari, costa rica). Mine was used in Costa Rica. By used, I mean photo ops and hauling gear. It had a little mud on the skids, nothing major.

So here's the story...This truck is one of 2-4? in existence that were modded by a Safari Gard in Marietta California for Toyota Motor Co. The trucks were used to promote the new 4runner on a Discover TV show and at the Chicago car show. Here is a link...
