Unless you're Thor, your pasty arm isn't going to alter the course of the truck or change the position of the tree. It's a physics equation that has you on the losing end of several tons of force.
edit: old 4x4 manuals tell you not to hook your thumbs around the steering wheel because bump steer off road can crack your thumbs out of joint... so you're not safe inside, either.

Just looking at the responses, I refuse to watch it. Gore is one of my few soft spots and so are bed bugs that are being exterminated right now. Haven't slept in my house for 3 days! Good thing my trucks seats fold flat, bad a bed back there until these nasty pests are GONE!

There's no blood, it's not a compound fracture. There is an arm flopping in places it's not supposed to flop though. My leg did that once, it was no bueno.

Yup, that's why I learned to drive off road with my thumbs outside the steering wheel. Makes it easier to shuffle steer too.

not gonna work.. bedbugs are very hard to get rid of... you will probably have to throw away your couches, matresses. take all your clothes put them in garbage bags, and put them in the sun for a few days.. heat is the best killer.. we went through 3 sets of couches.ended up moving and starting over..

We've got a huge furnace coming in that is going to cost $980 to have it done but it will get the house up to 150F and keep it there for 6 hours to kill all of them. We have new furniture already bought, just waiting for it to arrive so the couch, chairs and lounge seat thing is getting thrown out anyways. I refuse the throw away my mattress though, I just bought it 3 months ago or so and it was almost $1,000 so if anything that will be saved.

He's lucky it didn't get pinched. It wasn't a compound fracture. Those suck. I never knew my bones were so BRIGHT white!:wow:

You are correct. That is a simple fracture but none the less very damaging at the least.
On a good note, that is a self correcting error and he probably won't make that mistake again. If he does then natural selection will find him one day.
I'm glad you're okay. That looked very painful! I'm surprised that wasn't a compound fracture but it could have been a lot worse had the vehicle slipped into the tree with your arm in there. Do you usually wheel with some sort of medical kit with you? If so, look into Sam splints to add to your kit. They are a sturdy but moldable splint that you can comfort to the broken or injured limb, then wrap the limb and splint together with an ace wrap or equivalent. They're cheap and reusable too.
