How to reduce mud on trailers?

Hey y'all, I recently fixed up an old M416 trailer and did first trip with it through western part of Wyoming. Love the new setup that allows buy brother and I to sleep in the 4runner comfortably and store all our gear in the trailer. As the title mentioned, at the end of our trip, the trailer, especially the wheel well top was just covered in 2 inches of mud. Been thinking this and so far, I can only come up with adding big o mud flaps but I don't want those staying on permanently. I have seen a lot of videos on people pulling trailers but few if any have specifically addressed that issue directly. Seems like there are more products to delete than add. Looking for ideas or experiences from the community on solving or minimizing this issue. Forgot to add that mudflats I could add only when pulling trailer would be ideal.

Hello, I'd recommend removable mud flaps with quick-release brackets mounted behind the trailer wheels. You can attach them only when towing and remove them afterward. They should significantly reduce mud buildup on the wheel wells without requiring permanent modifications.
