[Ridge Runner]

Hello .. New to the site and looking for some info about a 01 4Runner. I just bought one that has 111,000 on it and still going strong. Belts and oild changes seem to be in good order but not sure when the last time the plugs have been changed?? Is this a hard task and how often should they be changed. Took it down and had the tranny fluid flushed. Everything seems in good order just wondering about plugs and anything else you may suggest. Great site and good info. Any help is appreciated

In my humble opinion, I would do the following just to ensure that all service is up to date:

Replace Plugs (this is simple to do, pickup a Chiltons manual for your truck to guide you)
Drain and fill Front/Rear differentials.
Dran and fill Transfer case.
Oil and Filter Change
Replace Air Filter
Check brakes and replace if needed.
Grease zerk joints with grease gun.
Check to see if Timing Belt was replaced.

I apologize for not going into "How to" detail on these. But a quick search of the forum for these items should yeild plenty of info.

thanks for the info. I have already started on some of these plus drained and refilled the auto trans fluid. I have tires going on this week so will check the rakes then. Does the 01 have disc or drums?? I'll try a search and see if I can find the info.

The 01 has drums on the back and disc brakes on the front.

Both of my rear drums were replaced right after I purchased the car with 67,000 miles.

I now have 110,000.

Thanks for the info.. I just put new tires on and replaced the front rotors and disc. Very simple job. The rear drums and shoes still got some life. Next I think I will tackle the timing belt replacement. It has 117,000 but I think the belt is the original. I did replace the others around 20,000 miles ago. Should be ok for a while. Thanks again
