01 four wheel drive issue

hey guys newbie here with toyota, i am working on my dads 01 and the four wheel drive light flashes and no 4wd. i was on alldata reading the wiring diagram and it shows square six pin connector at the the tcase shift motor trying to check for power and ground to the shift motors. i have a flat 7 pin connector. both the tcase and front diff shift motors do not make any noise and it will not go into 4wd. also can not seem to find the 4wd control module or relay and from a quick look over the engine bay, also i do not see any vacuum lines other than the evap emmision lines and fuel lines going down and back.

also i did a feww searches on what to check and pretty have come up empty handed as far as what i have checked so far, driving and trying to shift while turning, back and forth and tapping on the shift motors to actuate... nothing
