01 Heated seat retrofit question

I was browsing the junkyard today and came across a 01 limited with the heated leather seats. Mine is 01 SR5 with leather seats. How hard is it to wire them up? I snagged both the switches already. How much of a chance is some of it prewired?

I mean it's not much wiring really. Hot source (could be battery or some nearer power source under dash - use a tester to be sure), wire from there to switch on dash (or where ever it is), then wire from there to seat (naturally a ground wire too for all). Just run wires from dash to under seat along the driver door sill cover. Done.

I Love mine for hot food on the way home. Other than that I use it about 3 days out of the year (central texas). LOL. :cowboy:

I live in Colorado so they would see some good use.

Generally speaking, Toyota makes one wiring harness for each model. So the connectors for the switch should be there, should have the ones under the seat for the heating pad as well. Only one way to find out, start looking. If the connectors are there you might need to add fuses and/or relays to your junction block so a trip back to the donor might be needed.

My vehicle already has the fuse in the spot for the heated seats. Im gonna assume that the Heated and power seats get power through the same plug. Not sure what that plug looks like.

I have the same fuse and was thinking that maybe there might be wiring too. Did you get answers, install heaters?

I don't know about the 2001...

But I can tell you, without a doubt, the body harness for a 97 limited is not the same as the body harness of a 1997 SR5.

If you want heated seats, go with an aftermarket set, it will probably be easier overall.

We threw some dual temp KBD heaters when we redid our SR5 seats with Lseat leathers (for our Limited)... and they work better than any Toyota factory heated seats I've owned....
