I noticed on my new 4Runner that a vacuum hose is off and kind of pushed down to the side. Does anyone know what this is for or if it should be off? Thank you!!
Moved to 3rd Gen section, where you should get more response.
I might be inclined to plug it back in!![]()
Thank you!
It runs from the fuel pressure regulator back over to the air silencer. For some reason it was removed from mine when I bought it. It will cause your 4Runner to run to rich if it's not connected. Mine was missing for almost two years before I found it. After I fixed it my 4Runner runs a lot different. Hopefully that helps you. It took me a lot of research before I figured it out even my local Toyota dealer said they didn't know what it was. Lol.
lol that's weird ,whoever owned our vehicles must have liked them rich haha. Yea someone had taken it off of mine and shoved it down beside it.it couldn't have fallen off

Just to clarify. As someone mentioned. It goes from the air box to the fuel pressure regulator. No vacuum on it like many other systems do. Really shouldn't cause any change the A/F ratio. The hose is only to supply clean air at atmospheric pressure.
If I'm not mistaken this connects to the fuel pressure regulator located behind the plenum. Look at this picture and connect accordingly.
