As soon as I learned about these retrofits I got the bug as well... I havent found anyone local in SoCal so if you do I would be interested as well.
Seems like anyone who has developed a reputation on the forums seem to command a pretty hefty premium for labor, and if you are going to spend that much, you should probably be looking at some good OEM TL projectors instead of morimoto projectors on new housings if you have a yellowing issue... at least that's the conclusion I came to for myself.
My friend did his own using a morimoto projector and even though its time and labor intensive, its really not that hard. I decided the DIY route but I haven't pulled the trigger on the components yet... but its the only route that seems to make sense unless you just have some real cash to throw at the problem.

The morimoto stuff has actually come a long ways and the optics are getting very very close to competing with some of the OEM stuff. I have a lot of retrofits under my belt (had a small retrofit business while I was in University) and the new Morimoto Minis I would run without concern. Agree on having a fresh set of headlight lenses.

We are still just starting to look at this but we are going to try and have the retrofit labor around $200-225CAD + HID Components. There will be some stipulations with this depending on projectors used and other options like headlight painting.
I forgot which shop this was but they quoted me $760 for labor for "my particular model"

That was not including the HID components? How about the headlight assemblies? Were you getting any headlight painting done or LEDs/Halos installed? What projector was being used?
TO be fair I have done headlights that ranged from $800 (all in) all the way up to $2000 (all in). Just goes to show you the amount of variance depending on the components used.
I should be posting more details in the next couple weeks for anyone who is interested.
I just asked for a basic install where I would be providing the headlight assemblies. I know it's a lot of work but $700 is pretty steep. Kind of scared me into just getting the 06+ headlight and just trying to retrofit on the 05 headlights for now

700 is cheap to begin with, if keeping the 05 housing style and doing projectors in them, you have more options, fxr, mds2 4.0, rx350 ,ls 430 ls460, rx330 acura tl,s2000, the 06+ style have limited options, unless you really want to modify. for us 06+, i would use s2000, rx330, some here have done it with md2s 4.0, the 2.0 was a good upgrade from stock, but its shit when you compare to the rx projectors.

I wound up doing it twice - screwed up the first installation and got it right the second time. Given how much work I put into it, $760 labor seems fair.
