I just had to chime in.
Just read a long thread in the Problems & Warranty
section and i have to say that some of those things
are a little bothersome. But after running mine for
3 months i'm hooked. This truck is much more than
i expected. Is's great,changed the oil first time last
week and expected the filter to be mid to rear engine
mounted. I found it up front and was easy to get to.
This thing will just about pass everything but a gas
station,V8 power is great,dual over head cams on
both sides,and sounds great while under heavy acceleration.
no rattles or problems of any kind. This being my first Toyota,i guess i had no idea how great a truck it was. I've
had 3 different old lincolns w/460's 7.5 liter engines in the past and for the past 10 years i've been driving a 15 passenger
ford 7.5 liter fuel injected 92 ford van that has 185000 mi.
on it and still has the same starter & alternater on it.
Lucky i guess. But i think the runner would beat them all
from 0 to 60.

Sorry to be so long winded but one more thing:
i think i read here that the 110vac inverter was in the
rear left quarter. and i would like to know where because
i need to install an outlet in the back for a laptop that is
ac only. Thanks to all,happy 4runnin.

If you have the inverter, the 110V outlet is in the console. Open the armrest and it will be in the front. The switch is to the left of the steering wheel.

If you don't have one, you can always get a 12V adapter for the laptop for under $100.

Yes i have and am aware of the location of the 110v
outlet. I just don't like where the outlet is.
I want to tie in a rear outlet for convenience to
plug in a laptop for my son.He likes to play games
on the road.(no dc in on laptop)

Didn't Mean to sound sharp or anything
i just don't want ac cord draped across
the rear floorboard.also i thought it would
be neat to have a house looking outlet in
the back somewhere. (I'm kind of a mod nut)
