04 Nav Ipod integration

I know, I know. This subject has beaten to death, but all of the posts that I have been able to find have been about 05+ models. On all of those models, there are a few solutions to the problem. On the 04, there was not an option for a CD changer so there is no "aux" mode to switch to. What has anyone else with an 04 done? Could I make the tape player the input? Then the tape player would not work (i don't care) and I could hit the tape button on the nav and it would bring up my i-pod. Or is there an aux input on the stock amp that I could plug into and run a long cable up to the front? Or install an aftermarket amp that has an aux input and do the same thing? Or how about swapping my 04 nav HU for an 05+ nav HU? I'm open to any suggestions. Thanks!

If you have a CD button on your dash you could still hook up some kind of integration kit to it. All you would have to do is hook it up to you your radios CD plug in (should be back there even if yours didn't have a CD player). You should check out either DICE or USA SPEC integration kits. I would suggest DICE only because of the browsing options. Hope that helps

Hey Verruckt32, I also have an '04 limited with the nav and I also am looking to integrate my ipod. Stay away from the Dice unit It DOES NOT WORK. I'm still trying to get my money back. I have the JBL hu with numbers 17010 written on the bottom right hand corner. I called vaistech and spoke to a guy named Britton and he practically garaunteed me that their sl2i unit will work. I'm thinking of ordering it soon, so I'll let you know if it works.
