Joined the Toyota family once again, been in the mopar world for a long time but needed a safe family vehicle and picked up a 2004 limited, 4.7. 113k. Came from NY so lots of corrosion but has a rubberized factory underliner that kept it at bay for the most part. Was a company suv so it had dealer maintenance it's whole life. Pretty excited to see it pass 250k one day.
Xreas works for now, but have both reservoirs leaking. Probably just junk the system and go with a good write up article on the board.
So I have to ask a stupid question but i don't quite understand what they're saying. So I have a 4wd knob and it only has 4hi and 4lo. Am i always in 4wd? Or only when you select center diff lock? And does it lock the front or back axle?
Exhaust is pretty much shot as you can imagine, needs to be scrapped, so it got me thinking. I live at 6500ft and have thought about a simple turbo setup to regain the loss. No bov, no intercooler, small turbo, used wastegate. I'm sitting at a 3 psi loss at home. If I travel to 11k ft. I have a massive power loss, 6 psi worth. I did a search but couldn't find it, if the 4.7 of mine has an Ecu that can handle boost pressure??? Apparently they have the same ecu as the supercharged 4.7??? I would only be charging say..2psi over fair day at sealevel. That would be 5 psi rise at home. Hot side I'd love to just run the turbo off one manifold or do a crossover pipe. I'll have to look at some turbo maps and see what I can come up with.
