Hello everyone,

I'm new on this forum. I have a 04 4runner sport with alittle more than 20,000miles. Any input to my following question is appreciated.

The trip meter shows a distance of 24 miles but the console range/gas meter reads from 229 miles left down to 188 miles left, a 24 miles vs 40 miles difference. What does it mean to me?

Welcome to the forum. The difference you are seeing is based on your driving style. The console range is the projected distance you will travel on the tank based on your driving. If you are a lead foot and quick to accelerate or travel up hills a lot or any number of reasons you would use gas more, then the range will go down quicker than the actual mileage. So your range will fluctuate based on your driving and the actual mileage will not match it. Hope this makes sense. They are handy, but misleading sometimes.
