'05 JBL Audio Security

My '05 Limited JBL has an "audio security system". I'm wondering what exactly this means?
I would like to pull the headunit out of the dash to install an iPod2car adapter. Does anyone know if the audio security system will prevent me from pulling out the headunit? Thanks... /manf

I hadn't heard that there is an "audio security system" in the 2005 JBLs, so thats interesting. It may be something like when the unit loses power, when you hook it up again, you'll need to punch in a specific code to reactivate the unit. This is in place on some manufacturers to prevent someone from stealing the unit and using it without the code.

Just to provide an update, I installed the Neo Ion unit today with relative ease. Had to remove a lot of pieces from the dash to get to the head unit, but it was surprisingly easy.
Thanks to tips on this forum, I installed the iPod in the flip-out cubby (fits like a glove), and the cable runs through a small notch I made beside the screw at the top of the cubby (another forum tip).
The Neo Ion itself works great (based on a couple hours' testing). Can control it from the head unit or steering wheel. Can fast forward through songs, skip tracks from both, and pause by powering off head unit or switching modes. The only thing it doesn't do which would be nice is display track info on the head unit, but oh well.

In-dash 6-CD Changer?

I'm looking for an iPod adapter for an '05 Highlander. Is your 4Runner's JBL an in-dash 6-CD changer? Does it have a "model" number on the face plate? Did use of the Neo Ion disable the CD changer, or can it be used when iPod isn't attached/on?

Mine is an in-dash six-disc JBL CD changer system. No model number that I know of. The Neo ION does not disable the CD changer, I still have it loaded with discs that I can use. Yes, the CD changer works like normal as if the no Neo or iPod was ever installed. I like it.
