05 T4R Ltd V8 - Lowers after parking

Newbie here...why does my 4R lower itself after I park? I drive in Normal mode. I couldn't find anything in the manual about that.

How can I tell if there is something after market on it? I'm guessing this guy took the 4R onto a beach somewhere, because I am always finding sand in between the seats and within the seat stitching.

You definately have the rear air suspension on your 4Runner. There's a couple members here who have that option as well, hopefully they can give you insight on when it adjusts its height automatically.

I'm not aware of an aftermarket automatically leveling suspension for the 4Runner (not saying that it doesn't exists, just haven't seen or heard of one). The only thing I've seen remotely close are AirLifts, but you add air to them manually to get a desired height when towing or carrying a large payload.

I have the air leveling suspension. Its normal. Mine does it every day.

OK, that's good to know. What does air suspension do for me? Is it for ride or off road handling?

The purpose of it is to maintian a constant height even with a load in the rear. also helps when trailering.

Thanks for the info. The purpose of my 4R is to replace my Ram when it goes off lease. I haul a 5x8 trailer for my business, and this will do it with a bit less gas, and more reliability.

Off-road wise, members that have it says you can get it to lift its butt by an inch or two, giving you a better departure angle.
