Hi everybody, I’ve found a lot of posts talking about the 4.7 “long crank” but none on the v6, I’m looking for some advice. Twice now in the past two weeks I’ve gone to start my truck (I use the bump key feature a lot) and as I was putting on my seatbelt I noticed the engine was still cranking away. I pulled the key out and tried again, it started but cranked a few seconds and spluttered for a second then ran fine. I checked on my scan tool and saw 2-3 misfires and a few cylinders which explains the splutter for half a second….WEIRD. The truck cranks longer than others sometimes usually when hot but never enough to make me second guess it. This weird long crank has happened 2x now and once it’s running will fire up fine. What’s perplexing is I have no codes for anything and I can’t recreate it. Once it did it when it was 23 degrees out and today it’s 60 and it did it. The only time I have ever logged a misfire is at startup and it’s very rare, I have only had this truck 6 months so the plugs may be ancient, IDK. My only thought were maybe an issue with the chip key, fuel filter, or just old plugs. Thoughts???
