05 v6 Noise upon acceleration

Had the windows down the other day and noticed what I would describe as a fluttering sound upon accelerating. When I left off the gas or am coasting the sound isn’t there. I tried to get a video clip of it but it’s hard to hear in. The video.

My caps on the ends of the roof racks make a popping noise occasionally as the wind catches them just right. If you have a roof rack, the end caps may be loose, I am permanently deleting mine.

The crossbars on my rack needed to be tightened with a torx bit. I had something similar. You could just take them off for a bit and see if that helps?

It only happens when I accelerate quicker than normal. If I drive very conservative there is no noise but when I get on the gas pedal it happens. As soon as I let off gas pedal noise stops so it can’t be roof rack. Sound is coming from under hood but can’t pinpoint it. I’ve tried opening hood and having a friend rev but it only happens when in drive and car is moving

If you look at the body area right next to the driver's side cat convertor, there's a very thin heat shield pressed up against the body there. These are only held on by little screws or rivets. A couple of them were completely rusted off on one side and when driving on the highway the wind would make it flutter. It wouldn't make any noise while stationary.
You'll need to access it from the bottom.
