05 V8 Desert Runner build

What wheels and tire size?? I'm a member of AZ 4runners too, so I'll probably see you around! We're both rocking the rpm Fab bumpers [emoji1690]

They are Cooper STT Pro 295's on 17" wheels either pro comp or Cragar. Brought them used so I do not know exact brand. Awesome you're on there- where in AZ are you?

Did some more offroading the past few days, and came across a few things that need attention. I've been getting this clanking sound from somewhere in the front suspension, which leads me to believe something is loose due to a bad bushing. Unfortunately, living in a condo, I cannot do any major vehicle work, so I have to find a friends place to jack the truck up and look at it.
My alignment got thrown WAY off to the point where the steering wheel is almost upside down. Happened after being on a trail Saturday night, which leads me to believe that maybe the sound in the front is something with the steering, as I hit a medium size rock with my tire, and heard a loud bang. CV's looked alright.
Tires rubbed like a b!tch, I might consider going down to 285's once these are worn down.

Given I have a daily driver, once the AZ weather cools down I plan on re-painting the frame, POSSIBLY putting a full 3" suspension in and changing the front bumper to something different, as the company is no longer in business and screwed their customers in the end.

Exhaust pipe seperated from the muffler for no apparent reason. Damn northest rust gave me one last fuk you I guess. Going to be putting a flowmaster 40' series on it and remove the resonator.

Any chance your bumper has the brackets that accommodate a bodylift? I was gonna swap mine out with RPM Fab so I could get a bodylift but now they no longer exist. If not I'm thinking about having custom brackets made and adding custom tubing to make it a custom 3 hoop design.

Thanks man! Yeah I still rub a little bit, so perhaps in the future I am going to add a bodylift and a bigger suspension lift.

Removed the front bumper and this is how she's sitting until my bumper from RPMFAB shows up!

Is that an 06-09 bumper? Im curious as I see a bit of a gap. I am trying to plan out my build as I eventually want to change my 04 headlights to the face lift so I can get a sweet mesh grill in there.

I think it does not. When I ordered the bumper, it had an option to check the box if I had a body lift. So I guess they would have sent me brackets if I did.
I am contemplating on selling this bumper soon, but I am not sure yet as I dont know which direction I am going.

I'm wondering about your grill. I've been trying to get one like you have (silver), but haven't found them for the '05 sport v8. Is that a stock grill? Mine is color matched...

Edit: want to trade?! :)

The metal one is for my 05, and will probably fit up to 2009. However, I am not 100% sure, did anything in the frame change between 05 and 09?

2006-2009 has clearancing on most bumpers to fit the grill as it sits lower into the bumper than our pre-face lift cars.

Sweet build regardless.

Slowly beginning the "fixing it up so I can get a locked FZJ80" plans. I had new flowmaster 40 series installed today, after the stock exhaust fell apart. Next on my list is to wire wheel and re-paint the frame, fix the front suspension.
Sounds really good with the new setup.

Well, she has been sold. Time for me to move on and get an 80 series which I have wanted for a very long time. Questions about the build can still be answered, and the new owner will have it in Phoenix. Hopefully he will join and continue the build!
