06-09 grille on 03-05? easiest way

Trying to help a friend with this. What's the easiest way to put a 06-09 grille on a 03-05. I can get him affordable 06-09 headlights. I've also read where people have said to trim the corners on 03-05 headlights and it will work? Just looking at easy options.

Buy the under-headlight 06-09 trim and just throw it on...there will be a slight flaw under the updated headlights (where the grille interfaces with the trim piece, but other than that, just throw one on...installs with the same screws as the 03-05 grilles...nothing to it...

**you'll notice on my avatar, there's a small space where the 05 grille meets witht he updated headlights...that eliminates when you get the same updated grille...otherwise, it's a minor flaw that doesn't show too much...

He wants to put the grille on, not the headlights. I don't know the answer to the question though.

I realize that^^ you will need the under headlight rim of the 06-09 4runners in order to have room for the updated grille to fit too...

Jason, It will not work without some cutting....

unless you cut the grill and rebuild it... (See Gatorose build) or...

Cut the bumper... see my build thread.

I put an 06 grill on my 05.
