The problem is that it's RWD and there's not much weight in the rear. Just buy a few bag of cat litter, put it in the rear when You need it. If you get stuck, no problem, just pour the kitty litter to the wheels to get traction.. And winter tires, those Michelins are useless.

just wanted to chime in and say I love Colorado!! I spent 6 months in Boulder and if my wife would leave Boston with me I would move there in a heartbeat!!

I love Colorado too! Last August I drove with hubbythe 4runner from NY to Colorado-Utah for a week vacation.. A year before with a rental Sienna.. Want to move there maybe next year..

Colorado is one of the "Sancutuary" States so that has to be a plus for many.:

For someone who has never stepped foot in Colorado, you sure have a lot of 'derisive' things to say about this great State!

For the record, Denver is a 'sanctuary city', not the state of Colorado.

I don't live in Colorado never been there don't ever care to go there. (Colorado is a anti-firearm State and I really dislike anything that is even slightly anti-firearm.)

Now with that said we can get on with my choice of buying a 2wd 4Runner, I don't have to deal with deep snow where I live in Oklahoma so I can get buy very well in the winter with a fwd Maxima. The 4wd Sorento did just as well when in 2wd I hardly ever used the 4xd option.

The old tried and true 82 4wd Bronco is used when I work security in the oil patch, gives me the room and height to use my trusted LM&T with ACOG to defend myself when I run into the porch monkies trying to steal equiptment. 4wd are great in the oil patchs of Oklahoma as they were when I worked security in Angola. Just did not have to worry so much in Angola about the legal system as in the USA.

Anyway 4x4s are wonderful when they are really needed, they do cost more and really cost more to fix when they break. Also you have a lot of extra weight to lug around. And if you don't need all the extra weight why have it.:awais:

Hey I bought the Toyota 4Runner 2wd last Monday, this Saturday the mailman brough the clear title. So if I find this winter I need another Toyota 4Runner in 4wd I will just go out and buy one.:

When I was in Colorado I was 18. We stopped in Steamboat Springs and found the women's college up in the hills. We stayed there with our new American friends and 3.2 beer for a few days just being young and having real live fun until the administrator came knocking on the girls dorm room door at 0200. Running down the road after we bailed out the ground level window we were laughing our heads off drunk, young and happy. I kept in touch with that girl for some time over the years. From Steamboat we went to Rocky Mountain National Park and caught enough fish to have a meal. So without a doubt Colorado in my opinion is one of the most beautiful states with some of the most charming women in the United States.

Unless i'm blind, I haven't yet seen 2wd SUV here in CO.
But 4WD's and 4 x 4's own the road when it snows here.

It's because there is no point having a 2WD 4Runner in Colorado. With all those great off road trails? A 4runner should be 4WD anyway, or just get a Highlander..
