06 rear window regulator - repair or replace?

A few weeks ago my wife started to back out of a drive with the rear door open. She stopped just as she noticed the door against a tree, but it seems like the door may be slightly "sprung" when you close it.
However, the following day, when I closed the door, the rear window dropped to the bottom of the door.
After removing the door panel, I found that the "slider" bar that attaches to the bottom of the window (and the regulator) was lying in the bottom of the door, along with the rubber gasket that seems to hold the window in the slider bar. It looks like if I could get this gasket into the groove of the slider bar and on to the bottom of the window, it should work OK. Have tried d several times, but can't figure out how to do this
Does this slider bar have a stop to keep the nylon tab from coming out of the bar? Has anyone had this experience? Looks like if I buy a new regulator, I still have the problem of getting the window and rubber gasket secured in the slider.
All input and suggestions appreciated.

Rear window regulator

Techno, thanks for what you sent. I should have been more specific. Working on rear passenger door regulator.

Rear Window Regulator

My friendly mechanic offered thus simple solution that worked: through away the rubber gasket. Fill groove in regulator slide with RTV Gasket Maker/Sealer. Reassemble and run up the window for 2-3 days. All is well.
