Just bought my 1st runner (liked my wife's camry) Don't know if the plugs have been changed in the v6 and it has 117K on it, anything to watch out for like do it with the engine cold or hot? Also I have goodyear fortera tires on it, but I do leave the road when I go hunting and fishing up north in WI. Any suggestions for an all terrain tire that is reasonable on the highway?

Im getting the Firestone Destination A/T soon and for what I've heard there decent on and off road.
And I'd change the plugs just to be safe.

Tires come down to what you want and can afford (or willing to pay). There are excellent tires from many different manufacturers out there. Michelin, toya, Cooper, Goodyear, BF Goodrich....and many more.
I've had good tires from pretty much every manufacturer. For the past 20 years I've been running nothing but Coopers. Haven't given me any problems..so why change brand. You also have to consider the place you buy from. I buy from a small local tire place in NH. His prices are competitive...and he knows what he's doing. Many of the big chains have high-school dropouts changing your tires.
As for plugs....Denso or NGK are the OEM plug for Toyota/Lexus/Scion. Use either of those plugs and you'll be happy. Changing the plugs in the V6 is pretty easy. Not so easy on my wifes Lexus though.

That is a good writeup, but I skipped 1/2 the steps. I also went with the iridium NGK plugs as they work great and don't have to be gapped. Also, I didn't pull the bolts for the intake hose in the first post, and didn't pull the brace for the driver's side plugs in step 5, just the vacuum hose behind it. I used a swivel on the extension and it worked out fine. It's a little harder to get to, but not too bad.
It's really not that bad with a swivel extension, spark plug socket, and a little patience.
For Tires, I love my tires (check teh link in my signature) but they may be too agressive for your uses. I'd recommend the Grabber AT2, kumho Road Venture AT, or the Yokohama Geolander ATS, or the Wrangler Silent Armor for some agression on the tire along with a highway ride at a low price.
