Trying to find el cheapo wheel alternatives for my stocker 1999 4R. Plan is to run 265/75/16s, same size as stock, but mud terrorist treads for off-road hooliganism. I have the Tundra 199 brake upgrade, so 15s are out, gotta run 16 inch rims.
Found a set of 2006 Taco steelies but preliminary research indicates the offset is wrong (at least for the alloys), requiring spacers, which aren't in the budget and I strongly dislike spacers anyway.
So, do the Taco steelies have a different offset than the Taco alloys (doubtful, but gotta ask)?
Other options:
Hit the junkyard for OEM 4R spare tire steelies (cool, but don't know if there are any around here); or
Find a set of cheapo 4R alloys, but I'm lookin' to spend no more than $100 for a set of four rims. Yeah, tough, but I've done it before, should be able to find more.
Open to suggestions or if you know of a source for rims, let me know. Thanks!
