'06 V8 4Runner Shimmy & Shake

My '06 4Runner is shaking and shimming like you wouldn't believe. After having it to the Toyota dealer multiple times I finally broke down and got new tires as this is what all I spoke to said I needed to do. Well, things are no better! Please Help Me! the dealer did note that my shocks are leaking and so is one of my struts! I only have 45K on it! Do you think this is the problem? I can't stand to drive it anymore

Not all new tires get balanced right the first time. Good read here.


Play with the tire pressure a bit. Try as low as 30psi on a cold tire and as high as the max tire sidewall pressure. If the vibration ceases or changes dramatically at a specific pressure I'd say the shock(s) may have leaked enough to affect the shocks' performance.


I am making the assumption the rims were spun and inspected for runout/bends/imperfections.



I'd check this adjustment too.


My final thought is wheel torque. The rims are hubcentric and need to be torqued evenly and progressively at install to ensure they are seated properly.
