07 Front Brake Fluid Leak

Last week I had an issue with the drivers side pad worn out so I attempted to replace it and found out the piston is stuck. Tried to push on it and no go.

Today I replaced the calipers/pads/rotors and it all went well. I also bleed the brake fluid just since I had the wheels off and its an easy task. Well doing so, I found one of the reman. calipers started to leak where the brake lines connect to the calipers.

My question is, should there be an o-ring between the line and the connection female end of the calipers? It looks like just straight hose to the calipers but I wanted to double check. From previous minor hydraulics systems that I have worked on, there usually is.

I can always bring the calipers back but if its just and o-ring, I'd rather do that. I just wanted to double check. I did not recall seeing it.

I've replaced a few calipers and never saw an o ring. When I made custom brake lines for my mustang, they were the same as the 4runner with just a flared end. I assume all lines are like that but maybe not!

I saw that too. I just wanted to make sure before I brought it back to try and return it if it was a little fix. Thanks.

No o-ring that I've ever seen. Make sure you haven't cross-threaded the brake line into the caliper.

No. I was very careful doing that. I carefully threaded it so its good. Just to make sure, I removed it and it looks good and clean. It only leaks when pressure is applied to the brakes.

Are these CarDone remans?

Here's my take on them:

I just replaced my front calipers with CarDone remans. I think that these remans have been rebuilt so many times that the quality level have dropped significantly. I've found several calipers with leaks in between the two halves as well as leaks where the brake line threads in. I think there is just not enough material on some of these calipers to properly machine them back to the right tolerences, so they skimp a bit. Might want to just take it back and get a new caliper.

Not that I know of. I went to a AutoParts International. They usually have great stuff and if it is the calipers, this will be the first out of probably over 1000 parts that me and my family have had an issue with. But its a possibility. I just want to confirm.

I'm the type that wants to try and fix it if its small instead of returning it if I missed something. Returning parts is the finally straw for me if it's not fixable.
