07 V6 Sport - Traction Control Issue?

Let me start and just say that we have two 2007 Sports. Basically the same vehicles in different colors.

So I'll explain the problem because, to be honest, it dumbfounds me. If driving on slick ground and I gun it, my black T4R will automatically reduce power to keep the wheels from slipping. While this is happening, you can see the slippery road icon flash and an audible beep.

In our white T4R, the wheels just spin and the engine races, no icon no beeping, no reduction in power. I can literally do donuts and the computer won't care.

Neither vehicle have lights lit up on the instrument panel (CEL, VSC, A-TRAC, etc.). It's almost like traction control isn't working in our white truck. Admittedly, I have not checked fuses, but I also assumed that if fuses were blown, there would be at least a visible light indicating traction control was disabled, etc.

What are your thoughts on this?

My understanding of the power cut is that is the VSC, not TRAC. I "thought" there needed to be some angular motion along with tire slipping to trigger it and the power cut.

I have never had a power cut when nailing the power in a straight line on wet roads or gravel. Only time I sensed a brief moment of power cut was when I had turned the wheel while spinning. Was very quick.

If you are getting the power cut going in a straight line, might be a zero point calibration issue? BlackWorksInc would be the guy to chime in.

I'm pretty sure I've had it cut power in a straight line, although when you start spinning wheels, it doesn't take much for the back end to start sliding, so it could be VSC.

With that said, in my white T4R, even when the vehicle is fishtailing, it still won't cut power. I came out of a gas station pretty hot across 2 lanes of highway while turning onto the north lane. I cut the corner a little close and hit a little mud. I felt the truck start to fishtail, but no automated system kicked in. I pulled my foot off the gas and steered into it to get control back, but I feel that if I hadn't, I would have done a 180 pretty easily.

I've never driven our white T4R in the snow, we just got it over the summer. I've driven our black T4R in snow plenty, and it aggressively auto-corrects any wheel slipping quite impressively.

Something tells me I'll probably be out testing the white one in the first snow we get this year.

Never paid much attention to them, but there are sections of the 2007 Shop manual posted online that address the steering and and yaw sensor function. One of those may be whacked out and disabling VSC on your white T4R, though I would think the lights on the dash would indicate that the zero point calibration was gone.

Sure sounds like it is not working if you could slide around like that, after all, that is what it is there to prevent I thought.
