08 Brochure

I was at the dealer last night and picked up a 08 4R brochure . If you think Toyota doesn't think this is a capable off road vehicle it sure is marketed as one .

There is not 1 on road picture in the whole brochure. Some are pretty nice shots , hill climbs , rocks , streams ect.... granted they are most likely posed pics , but still sure is marketed as such in the brochure.

Dealer wants me to me to opt out of my lease on the 06 for an 08 , made me quite a good offer too. Didn't go there for that though.

As long as they didn't throw that Urban Runner into an off-road picture, then I think a 4runner looks at home in the outdoors.

Speaking of the '08 brochure, someone on another board somewhere was complaining that it says 4Runners have active headrests when that actually isn't true. At least, they aren't on our '08 that we bought in Nov '07. He made quite a stink about it, but I think he's finally moved on.

I don't know what active headrests are ?

I just thought it was cool that they had all off road shots , and no street shots at all. Seems to be pushing it as off road vehicle.....bout fricken time !!!

The "Urban Runner" edition is just as capable off road as the Limited 4Runner. The only difference between the trim levels is the tires and wheel size.

I didn't mean anything about its capabilities in offroading performance though. Merely that it is designed to attract the "city driver" crowd. To me, it seems like they are marketing it to the same crowd that would buy Sequoias.

That was THIS board: http://www.toyota-4runner.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=32671&highlight=active+headrest

Falls, look on page 2 of the thread and see description of active headrest...it's a good safety feature that none of my cars have. :(

The 2005, 2006, and 2007 brochures don't have any on-road pics either. I am missing the 2003-04 brochures from my collection but the 2002 doesn't have any on-road pics either.
