09 v6 exhaust questions

Hey guys, I am wanting to make my 4runner sound a little better. I thought about cutting the resonator off, but read where people said it didnt make a difference. Do yall have any ideas on what I could try that doesn't make it sound like a ricer??

It has a low muffled exhaust sound due to the large muffler that's big as the fuel tank. You could get a cat-back system to replace it but leave the cats alone if you need to pass emissions and don't want a constant check engine light.

Just cut out your old muffler and have a shop weld on a flowmaster or magnaflow. Much cheaper than a full catback exhaust system with ultimately the same effect, which is great sound.

Yeah that's what I was going to do. My only concern is getting a good muffler that doesn't sound bad at high rpms. Also does anyone have a video or sound clip of theirs?

i dont think i shot a video of my set up back when i still had it but what it was was a magnaflow muffler with the resonator deleted, i also tried flowmaster and borla back then before settling with the magnaflow.. it wasnt loud or ricey but i just got tired of it so i went in and had the stock muffler welded back in.. i still have the magnaflow if you want it.
