so I go to take the trash out of the house early this morning and it sounds like a small kids toy running underneath the new ride in the garage? ?? I look around but can't see anything? open the car (keys were out of the ignition) and put them in and start it and it fires right up. turn it off and the noise goes away? My wife calls me a few hours later and say she is getting a low battery voice. anyone know what the problem might be? I am taking it to the dealer at lunch but was wondering what everyone thought as I have very little knowledge when it comes to auto's (I am learning though thanks to this forum). something with the fuel pump maybe? any info would be great.

perhaps fuel pump was running....Should not run until KOEO (key on engine off).. I can not think of any other components that would make a noise comming from under the truck. There may be a ride control module or something, i am not sure about the 5th gen.

PLEASE post up your findings for the other 5th gen folks

Can you detail what you mean by a "low battery voice"?

Keep us updated and Good Luck. I bet its something very minor or "a small kids toy underneath"!!

The noise is normal as it's the fuel evaporation leakage check. It is in the owners manual.

Never heard of it making a "low battery voice" though.Might have to call a priest on that one,:wow2:

My wife swears a voice came on telling her the battery was low? I am at the dealer so I should be able to update shortly

Did she have her cellphone connected via bluetooth? maybe the low battery was her phone warning; not the truck. or maybe it was her phone period.

Okki

I am almost positive this is what it was. the car checked out with 0 problems. the combination of me not knowing what the sound was followed by the low battery issue had me worried. I guess I need to go study up on the manual more. and as a rule of thumb put my questions on this board before I drive to the dealership unless some warning lights come on. thanks again everyone!

Haha no problem. Added some levity to a Friday.

what it should do is tell her to park it and call a taxi.

no excuse for drinking and driving.
