i remember reading this somewhere, but toyota is expected to beat out daimler chrysler and join gm and ford as the top three sellers in north america (i forgot the projected year). i believe GM is currently #1 (in sales not quality

I can see why... I think there are a lot of people in the market for new car(s) like myself and I had 3 options in my mind (1) Toyota 4Runner, (2) Jeep Grand Cherokee, and (3) Nissan Pathfinder.
I cant stand the 05 Pathfinder rear and cant stand the 99 - 03 Pathfind front.
The Jeep Grand Cherokee reliability and build quality is horrible for anything prior to 03/04 and then it still isn't very good, at least compared to the 4Runner.
In my mind, its pretty much narrowed down to either 03-04 Used 4Runner or splurging for the 05 V8 AWD. I have a feeling that in the next 6 months I'll do my part to push Toyota ahead

I was one of those sold. Bought at Folsom Lake Toyota on New Years Eve. I got a galactic grey v8 sport with the basic options. Already ordered homelink and an autodimming rear-view. Very happy with it so far.
