can someone with the wiring diagram for the 4th gen let me know which tabs are for what? (+,ground etc..)

yeah..i should have mentioned that i have the diagram. but it's far to confusing for my undejumicated self. might as well be reading Chinese.

certainly someone can decipher that beast and help me out on the tabs!

looks like i need to get a relay. would the 'automotive relay' from radio shack work?

i wonder which posts i need. i think otter on this forum knows about this kind of stuff...

fan still works, takes up no space. no noise etc..

this is what the back looks like..

the metal used was some thin corner stripes used in drywalling... i think it's tin. lots of hot glue gunnage.

factory button (84480-35070) installed in a more convenient location. night light works and so doe the 'on' lamp.

for the aux input, (i have an eclipse nav unit) i altered a standard aux input from toyota. 86190-53010

initially i cut a blank in three pieces using the tabs along side the original housing and it looked like this.

my wife wasn't too happy with the look, so i used my rotary tool to doctor up a blank instead... using the "AUX" flap.

....... she's happier.

...nice install...also noticed the heated seats, how do you like the switch locations.

thanks to all for the compliments.

yup.. got my relay from Radio Shack.. 30 amp rating so i'm more than safe. the power is coming from where the second cigarette lighter would have been had i chosen that option. so i'm not pulling any more power than what the truck's electrical system is designed for.

Are you using a relay for this and where are you getting the power from?

initially i was thinking the switches would go on the bottom of the seat, near the track.. but the guys at the shop put it there to match the factory location.. guess that's a good idea. makes it easier to play tricks on my passengers by turning theirs on high on a hot summer day.
