115V outlet Relocation

Has anyone thought about, or already done, relocating the 115AC outlet burieg inside the center console to a location that you may actually be able to get at. I was thinking about on the side of the center console around the cup holder (facing out).

My truck didnt come with the outlet. So, I installed a 550W inverter under the center console (not actualy where the current socket is located, but under the center cover).


I installed the plugs on the passenger side of the center console. My last vehicle had a cig lighter in that general area and found it useful.


It did require me to cut out a small spot for the plugs to be installed, but the plugs' cover, easily covered the small holefor the wires and such.

I use an extension chord with one of those really flat plugs and just run it out of the console. Works real well for me.
