12586 Magnaflow Muffler on 99 SR5 V6

Hey All!
After much research on this forum and about a million youtube videos of exhaust noise I just ordered a 12586 SS Magnaflow. I should get be able to get it installed Saturday and hope to post a video then! This model has the exact body dimensions as the stock muffler although it is only available in 2.5" in/out. Midas said they could flare the old pipe to fit the new muffler so we'll see. There are so many people who use the "24" and I am assuming they are talking about this muffler: MagnaFlow Exhaust Products - For Trucks, Suv's, American Muscle, Diesel, & Sport Compact Vehicles.

Why they use this I do not know. To each his/her own. I found mine on amazon for $97.15, delivered to my door. We'll see how the slightly shorter and wider body than the "24" sounds. Maybe it will produce some harmony between rice and silence. Stay tuned.

12586 Magnaflow = Winning

What is the best way to upload on this site? file type...... Anyway. Sorry about your luck, Children of Bodom. That almost sounds external to the muffler but I am sure you would have caught that by now. I am extremely happy with my 12586 and love the sound of it. It is very quiet on the highway with zero drone but will turn some heads if I step on the gas. I didn't really notice an increase in power especially since I put the new 265/75/16 Pirelli's on it. The mic on my point and shoot is a little sensitive so not the best video but good enough.

Cool. What did you do about the 2.5" opening. Did you flare the tailpipe or just weld in the 2.25" into the opening?

3rd muffler to break. It's the muffler alright. You'll love the sound until it breaks.

Mine sounded perfect for what I wanted, but now, all I hear is rattle.

New Magnaflow products are pieces of crap and I refuse to support them any longer.

Midas flared both sides to meet the muffler no problem. If this thing starts rattling I am going to scream! BTW, Do not take your vehicle to any NTB in St. Louis. Great deal on my tires but the kid doing the alignment broke both tie rods with a huge cheater bar because he didn't understand the concept of a jam-nut! LOL! Then I took it to another location to have the alignment done and they chipped all my pristine stock rims trying to hammer on the alignment sensors on the wheels! Incredible. Still no word from the area manager on how they are going to proceed.
