14 Limited Chrome Trim problem

Recently purchased a 2014 Limited.

Really like it so far however the chrome on the front and back is looking oxidized or pitted. Car was always an AZ/CO car as far as I could tell by the Carfax and we don't salt out here as far as I know so I'm not sure whats caused it.

Anyone recommend a fix or replacement parts?

I've done some digging but can't find much aside from people plasti-dipping and I would prefer not to plasti-dip. I would like something more permanent. I would even consider replacing the actual pieces with new ones or getting them paint matched by a body shop if it wasn't going to cost thousands of dollars.

I could honestly live with it if I had to. It's a Colorado truck after all and I bought this thing with the idea that I'll be driving it into the ground for the next 5-10 years.

I'm going to ask the dumb question, but how hard have you tried cleaning it? because it looks like the last owner didn't try very hard. and it looks like maybe some of that dirt is baked on by the intense AZ heat? maybe not the answer, but i'd spend a good 15-20 minutes with a small section and see if you can clean it with some soap and water and compare to the rest.

I just picked it up last night so I didn't get a chance to try cleaning it beyond what the dealership does.

Try a bit of CLR on a microfiber cloth. Some of those look like water stains so a calcium remover should do the trick.

Mag chloride will do that if not cleaned off relatively quickly. I would try clay bar, or, I've had pretty good luck with Meguiars PlastX or ScratchX or similar. Something with a microabrasive in it to buff that stuff out.
