Mathematically speaking, yes, 3.4% but using GPS to check speeds with the increase in tire size showed me more accurate at 7%...that's where my SCII is set at and I have been verified by others using other brands of GPS for reference.

Why don't you fill my tank for a change? In Europe I am lucky if I fill the empty tank with 130-140 USD (100-110 Euro). 1.3 EURO per LITER!
Yeah, 15mpg hurt at THESE gas prices, but not at your dead cheap US prices!

I use the GPS method and apply a "correction" when running bigger tires (for me, that's Summer only, pretty much.) My "correction" is 5.5% when running 275/75/17s.
So, when I fill the tank, I take the miles shown on the odometer (say, 356.3) and multiply by 1.055 which gives me 375.89 - that's the actual distance I traveled, so I divide that by the number of gallons and I get my "true" MPG.
I also calibrate my SGII, although the calibration is a little clumsy as you have to do it while driving (by contrast, the Ultra Gauge can be programmed at a stop and much more finely.) Once the calibration is dialed in, the SG will give a very accurate "DTE" or Distance To Empty.
I found out how accurate it was when I ran out of gas in my 3rd gen in 2012!

Interesting.
I've messed with this extensively using GPS and settled on 6% for new 265/70/17s, but of course tires differ a little. The 6% was rounded. I felt it was probably a little higher in actuality. Currently, I use 5% for my Revos with 60k on them.

I got 16mpg on a recent trip with with friends. Bone stock 03 4X4 with V8. The trip was 1120 miles over a weekend. Kinda bummed because we all thought my 4runner would do better than a denali or durrango. It put up the same numbers as the full size suv's that we could've taken. Im running BFG AT's if that helps.
I also blew a shock up in Stockton on the freeway. Wrap your head around that. Cruise control set at 80mph, the flow of traffic at the time, and couple the sh*tty I-5 construction going on up there.
Im now in the market for some coilovers. I guess thats a good thing. Right?? Hahaha

Wondering if OP, who is in Nebraska, might be driving in 4WD. I know guys in Midwest who put their V6s into 4WD at the first sign of snow and leave it that way until spring. Just a thought.

Also another thought in to it would be the weight of the tire it self, the 275/70/17 KOs them selfs bran new weigh in at 55 lbs a tire compared to stock tire witch weighs from 30-40 lbs. when you have that weight it takes a lot more of the v6s to "get up an go" witch causes the bad gas millage, almost like putting your foot to the floor in stock form and also with the bigger wider tire size there is more rolling resistance from the tires to the concrete with the tires. When i put my tires on i could fell the weight in the steering and acceleration compared to the stock tire and yea my gas milage has gone down drastically from stock but expected, until i get the tires i want these will do for now.

I know that type as well. Not me though. More fun to see how far I can make it in 2wd. Drives the wife crazy.
Did some solid highway driving today so I reset the mpg. Said 16.8. Lil better. I need to be easier on it in the city since I travel short distances for work and what not. Also realized with a baby I let my car warm up which obviously gets me 0 mpg and kills the average.

Are you using the X-gauge feature? I believe the DTE requires you to put in X-gauge info. But it's great to have.
X-gauge will also give you Transmission Fluid Temp (TFT) which is a good thing to know if you drive in hot weather a lot and/or pull a trailer. The ability to read TFT is the reason I chose the more expensive SGII over the less expensive (and easier to use) Ultra-Gauge.
I do run an Ultra-Gauge on my DD Mazda pickup, but that's got a manual transmission so I don't need to know trans temperature.

That's the same reason I chose SGII over UG. I am already using Tranny Temp but the DTE doesn't work on mine...perhaps I need to re-enter and make sure the correct characters are in...

Yeah with those X-codes, it's easy to mix one letter. Also sometimes you can substitute the "title" and other times you can't. I tried to get my transmission temp to be ATF but it wouldn't read it unless I had it set as TFT.
